Mount Athos
Mount Athos (or Agio Oros) is an autonomous part of the Greek State. It is located on the third leg of Halkidiki on the peninsula of Mount Athos (named after the mountain with the same name). It’s capital is Karyes which are located in the center of the peninsula.
Mount Athos includes twenty Holy Monasteries, as well as various shops and services. It is a destined place, where those who are dedicated people of God visit to worship.
Mount Athos is a monumental complex of world interest, while it was declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
